Assessment Framework
Our assessment framework evaluates 72 individual service standards across 8 categories. Every rated yacht is assessed anonymously against these criteria by former chief stewardesses, captains, and luxury hospitality professionals.
How assessment scores translate into Superyachtly ratings.
From initial broker contact through to embarkation day, how effectively does the crew prepare for the guest experience?
Crew acknowledges receipt and asks clarifying questions on dietary, activity, and schedule preferences.
A written plan exists detailing guest names, preferences, special occasions, and tailored touches.
Crew initiates contact regarding transfers, provisioning confirmations, and itinerary suggestions.
Crew demonstrates knowledge of guest interests beyond the preference sheet (social media, previous charters, business context).
All food, beverage, flowers, and special requests are on board, checked, and stored correctly.
Entire crew has been briefed on guest names, dietary requirements, allergies, and planned itinerary.
Alternative anchorages, indoor activities, and wet-weather dining options are pre-planned.
Specific brands, products, or items requested or implied by the preference sheet are sourced and ready.
Our assessors book through standard charter channels as regular guests. The crew never knows they are being evaluated.
Assessors experience the complete charter — typically 5-7 days — evaluating every touchpoint against our 72 standards.
Each standard is marked Pass or Fail. Scores are calculated using category weightings to produce an overall percentage.
Owners and management receive a comprehensive report with scores, commentary, and specific recommendations for improvement.
Our Training Academy modules are designed around these exact assessment criteria. Complete the coursework to ensure your team meets — and exceeds — every standard.
