Our Methodology
Our ratings are earned through rigorous, anonymous assessment by industry professionals. Over 200 service touchpoints are evaluated to deliver the most credible quality standard in superyacht charter.
Our assessors book as regular charter guests. No yacht is informed of an evaluation in advance. This ensures authentic service delivery is measured, not a rehearsed performance.
Superyachtly has no commercial relationship with the yachts we rate. Our assessors are paid by us, not by the vessels. Ratings cannot be purchased or influenced.
Over 200 individual touchpoints are assessed across a minimum 4-night charter. Every detail from embarkation welcome to final disembarkation is documented and scored.
Assessment Framework
Guest interaction quality, anticipation of needs, response times, personalisation, and attention to detail throughout the charter experience.
Interior styling, table settings, floral arrangements, uniform standards, and overall visual consistency across all guest areas.
Menu creativity, dietary accommodation, presentation standards, wine service, and consistency across all meals and snacks.
Water sports operation, tender service, navigation communication, itinerary management, and seamless operational delivery.
Pre-charter engagement, preference gathering, real-time responsiveness, discretion, and post-charter follow-up quality.

The Process
Yachts apply or are nominated for assessment. Minimum criteria include active charter status, professional crew, and Mediterranean or Caribbean operation.
Our assessors charter the yacht as regular guests. No advance notice is given to the crew. The evaluation covers a minimum 4-night charter experience.
Over 200 individual service touchpoints are evaluated across our five core dimensions. Every interaction from embarkation to disembarkation is documented.
Assessment findings are reviewed by our independent panel of former chief stewardesses, captains, and luxury hospitality professionals.
The final rating is awarded and published. Yachts receive a detailed report with scores, commentary, and specific recommendations for improvement.
Ratings are valid for 12 months. Yachts are reassessed annually to maintain their rating, ensuring standards are consistently upheld.
Our Assessors
Our assessment panel comprises former chief stewardesses with 10+ years of superyacht experience, retired captains, and luxury hospitality professionals from five-star hotel backgrounds. Each assessor completes a rigorous training programme and is calibrated against our standards before conducting evaluations.
